Luton Town Centre
Luton Borough Council approached us to design Railings and Street Furniture that were reflective of the towns history of lace making, with the aim to pedestrianize the Town Centre.
To achieve this a double layered railing with an interference pattern was used, the pattern changed depending on the angle that it was viewed from, these railings were also used to form an amphitheatre space.
This effect was used to produce a range of co-ordintaed street furniture, including the Penny Farthing inspired cycle stand which has since become a successful product.
We won a design award for landscape and architecture for this project, which utilised a number of different CAM products to achieve the overall aim – to pedestrianise the Town Centre.
