A team of Chinese designers have designed this innovative water tower to help the Amazon rainforest cope with forest fires.

The ‘Rainforest Guardian Skyscraper’ will be capable of storing water during periods of high precipitation through a system of capillary roots, this water is then used to irrigate the local land in drier months and supply the building’s ‘firefighters’ - small robotic aircraft which fly out and extinguish fires.

In addition to this the skyscraper provides ideal research facilities for climate scientists and also public viewing space over the Amazon.

This concept earnt an honourable mention in Evolos 2014 skyscraper completion.
