Newcastle Street Regeneration project
Artist Charlie Carter specified Cams’ decorative railings on a recent street regeneration project in the Arthur’s Hill area of Newcastle upon Tyne. As lead artist Charlie’s role involved looking at opportunities to inject creativity into the scheme from the earliest point, so that it was possible to make small changes to things like pedestrian railings, litter bins, lighting columns and paving that, together with several unique sculptural street way-markers, have created a distinct identity for the area. The two year project completed in July this year and the railings have made a considerable impact on the improvement of the street scene.
