Architects – Ahrends Burton and Koralek
CAM were approached by one of the countries leading and most
respected Architects to design some feature security railings for
this most prestigious project.
The resulting design uses steel flats each with a different profiled edge,
When the railings are viewed at an oblique angle, the effect is very rhythmic
and dramatic. When the railings are viewed head on, they become almost transparent.
With high security being a big issue, the railing panels were just over 3M high fixed
on top of a dwarf wall with large steel posts set behind the wall.
The German Automation Company Elkosta manufactured the security gates.
The gates incorporated CAM panels to match the railings design. These were shipped to
Germany along with the railings. The gate panels were then inserted into the Elkosta frames in their factory. The gates and railings were then galvanised and polyester powder coated to an extremely high standard.
